There are three basic components of the da Vinci® Robotic Surgery: surgeon console, patient-side cart, and vision cart.
Surgeon Console
The surgeon console is where your physician sits during the procedure where there is a crystal-clear 3DHD view of your anatomy. With the use of tiny instruments that are “wristed” and move like a human hand, they are manipulated with a great range of motion during the surgery.
Patient Cart
The patient-side cart is located near the patient on the operating table. This is where the instruments used during the operation move in real time in response to your surgeon’s hand movements at the surgeon console.
Vision Cart
The vision cart facilitates communication between the components of the system possible, and provides a screen for the care team to view the operation. After discussing all options with your doctor, only you and your doctor can determine whether surgery with da Vinci technology is the right solution for your situation.
